I saw it at midnight of that release day - and was 1 of 2 females in a theater of about 500 people. While the eye candy was wonderful-lovely, I also loved the stylized fight scenes. I have heard that it is really bloody and gorey but it is filmed so well that you can hardly tell. there is one movie that i did get to go and see and based upon your "theatrical tastes of an adolescent boy" you would really like it. Superbad. it is all sex jokes, crude humor, and just freakingly funny! my vote is go! oooh. just one more reason to go and see it.

The hubby and I watched it on DVD a few weekends ago... yikes! What a terrific bunch of abs... I mean, actors! ;) Honestly, I'm a comic-book-turned-into-movie junkie too. And 300 was excellent. I also loved the paranormal aspects, it really gave it that extra edge. The fight scenes were awesome. The hubby and I watched a Spartan documentary about a month before watching 300, so it was cool to compare that with the movie. :) The movie I watched before that was Ghost Rider. This was a total disappointment. But Spider-Man 3 was excellent! We don't go to the movies that often either, but we did watch Transformers and the latest Harry Potter movie. Both totally AWESOME!
