I’m with you on Amityville Horror, also The Stand by Stephen King. I read it when I was 13 and couldn’t go to sleep on several nights reading through the night hoping to get to a part that didn’t scare me as much.

I try to avoid books and especially movies that are too scary, but I do remember being scared by Jaws for a long time. There are some old Alfred Hitchcock films that have freaked me out, too, in particular Psycho. I’ve avoided Stephen King since reading Carrie many years ago. I’m just a wimp–LOL.

The Shining. I saw it in the theatre as a teen and I have to say it may have colored my perception of Jack Nicholson forever. He creeps me out.

It is Stephen King’s It for me, too. I was afraid to go the bathroom for a long time. My mother had to stand by in front of the bathroom.

As a kid that was the first horror movie I ever saw. Scarred me for EVER. lol

When I was little I saw a movie called War Of the Worlds and those alien machines with their wierd ‘eye’ appearance, scared the bejujus outta me. I was under the table scared that the aliens would come and get me, but I kept watching the movie.

The Excorcist takes the cake. Im not a big fan of horror movies. But if I had to choose one, then this would be it.

That is most definitely The Exorcist. I saw part of it when I was younger and I can’t stand to even see a commercial for it now. Gives me the total creeps!!!!
