Book of the Day: When He was Bad

When He was Bad, by Cynthia Eden and Shelly Laurenston

Two of paranormal romance’s bestselling authors combine their extraordinary talents and set the pages on fire with an after-dark anthology featuring Alpha males so hot, so wild, and so bad, they may just be the best you’ve ever had…

Shelly Laurenston, Miss Congeniality —

It’s those damn stockings that get me every time. They have this sexy little line down the back and I can’t help but stare at her legs-constantly. And you’d think she’d be all over me like every other female in the Seattle area. I’m young, good looking, and one day I’ll be Alpha Male of my family’s Pack. But Professor Irene Conridge acts like I don’t even exist. How is that possible? Now she’s got enemies coming out of the woodwork and I have to protect her. Why? Because that’s the kind of man I am. Yes, I am that amazing. Of course, it doesn’t hurt that while I work to secure her safety, she’ll be hanging out at my house. That’s hours-days even that I’ve got Irene Conridge right where I want her.

Cynthia Eden, Wicked Ways —

I’m too dangerous for her. I know it, but I can’t get my sexy new neighbor out of my head. When I hear her scream one night, the absolute last thing I expect to see is Miranda Shaw-star of my hottest fantasies-being attacked by a vampire. Now the undead jerk is after her, and I’m the only thing standing between the beautiful lady and a killer who just won’t stop. Well, too bad for him, because that vamp has just made the worst mistake of his afterlife-he’s tangled with a shifter. And Miranda, well, she’s so busy watching out for him that she won’t see me closing in on her-not until it’s too late-and I’m about to show her just how wild I can get.

Want a chance to win it? Comment and answer the question below. I’ll draw a winner tomorrow morning. One entry per person, please.

Describe your dream vacation.

My answer: White sand beach, warm blue waters of the Gulf of Mexico, margarita in my hand and my husband at my side. Oh, and I’d be deadline free.

  1. this time of the year—the best vacation i can think of would be to go to Maine, walk along pathways in the woods, and watch the leaves change.

  2. Loved this book. Unlimited time to explore England, Wales and Scotland with a side trip to Ireland. History, culture, food and more history.

  3. I would love to go on an African Safari and get a chance to see all the beautiful native animals up close ( but not too close! )in their natural environment.

  4. I would love to visit France in the Spring Time, Not Paris, although i’d love to go there too, but Southern France in what is called the “Flower District” Where some of the world’s greatest perfumes are created. I’d love to walk throught the country side and just smell the flowers. Of course the great food and wine over there would be a plus also. 😀

  5. Private yacht, me and the captain, sailing around port to port, days at the beach, midnight strolls along the shore.

  6. I’d like to globe-trot and see all the great wonders of the world!

  7. I would love to go on a cruise with my husband to the Caribbeans, enjoy the time spent together on white sand beaches. Finding a hidden lagoon where we could spend a romantic night having steamy sex under the stars…that would just be amazing

  8. For yrs, I’ve been dreaming of a 2wk Alaskan vacation with friends. Want to fly up, visit inland via train/bus, and then cruise home. Ah, maybe next year!

  9. I would love to travel around Australia and visit the beautiful cities, the outback, the wonderful beaches and meet the great people. I have always wanted to take as much time as needed to visit this amazing country and still would love the experience.

  10. my dream vacation would be a romantic trip around the world, spending months traveling in a nice yacht or cruise ship as we get to see all the sights. Spending time at all the wonders of the world. I would love to get to see Europe, parts of the old Soviet Union, Egypt, and any place else that is full of history.

  11. Honestly, just to go somewhere and not be concerned about what anything costs and be able to enjoy myself completely!

  12. dream vacation would be open ended on time, so no “oh no, it’s almost the end of my vacation feeling!” Other than that, I love places with neat things to see, historical places with castles, or beautiful mountains, don’t need to be on the mountain, just like to look at them! 😉 But definitely with the hubby. Half the fun of it is being able to share something neat with someone you love! I wouldn’t mind seeing Egypt or Mexico either, but I’m a little afraid of the culture shock!

And I could say I’d like to take a reading vacation, where all I had to do was lay around and read, but I know that would only last about an hour before I was up and ready to do something! I am short attention span girl! 😀

  13. My dream vacation would be to Scotland…I do not know what really draws me to visiting there but one day I would definitely love to go.

Right now I would take a vacation anywhere and be happy. I definitely need a little break but cannot afford it right now.

  14. My dream vacation would be an all expense paid trip around the world with my sons and boyfriend. I would want to visit every continent, every state, and lots of places in between!!

  15. Good morning Anya,

Fly into Rome tour all the old places, see Greece, cruise the Mediterranean (for Hubby who wants a cruise), then on to Australia. England, Scotland, & Ireland tour would be a very close 2nd pick.

    Thank you,

  16. hmmmm – a family vacation in Ireland I think!

  17. A month-long Mediterranean cruise with a cabin ‘man’ at my beck and call.

  18. I’m a homebody, so my favorite vacation is staying at home with my s.o., where there are numerous books and DVDs to chose from.

The second best? A looooooooooong trip to Europe, staying for days on end wherever we feel like it…

    (a gal can dream, right? 😉 )

  19. I would love to take the whole family for a six week vacation in the British Isles. To stay at b & b’s through out Ireland and Scotland and take our time visiting anything and everything.

  20. My dream vacation would be a trip around the entire country. I want to visit all of our states and see the beauty and diversity of each part of our magnificent United States. Not asking for too much, huh? LOL!

    So hard!

  22. Dream vacation… A trip to Ireland… maybe meet a handsome Irishman with a wonderful brogue! 😉

  24. I would love to be on beach resort in Tahiti.

  25. My dream vacation is to go to Australia. I would love to go to the Sydney Opera House, visit the Outback, sun bathe on one of the beautiful beachs, and go to one of the animal parks and view the wild life.

  26. Big bear lake, in a cabin with food to bbq. All this suring the wintertime.

  27. Dream vacation.. trip down under to Australia and New Zealand for an extended period of time. 🙂

  28. I think that I would like to be somewhere like Iceland having a wild adventure with my Mr. Perfect ( so I guess the first order of business is to find him)!

  29. EASY!

Gerard Butler and I would end up in a beautiful Scottish castle – but we would be missing all of our clothes 🙂 hahaha

  30. What great vacation ideas! Warm waters, great food, sunshine but not too hot and just relaxing (sleeping in!) and exploring the local area would work for me 🙂

  31. I perfer to stay at home and read or garden.

  32. Dream vacation for me would either be at the wilds of Scotland, to see the highlands and just let the deep history soak into me

Or Ireland, to see the rolling verdant hills, to feel the culture and spirit natural of the place seep deep into my person.

  33. I agree with the beach and the margaritas. For company, though, I’d take along books. Asking the cabana boy for another drink is all the conversation I need.

  34. In a luxury condo somewhere with my husband where we can dine out on yummy food; I’d love a large portion of my TBR transported there, too. And I’d like to be able to leave the kids at home in someone’s capable hands while we read and relax and frolic 🙂

  35. My dream vacation would be a trip around the world, spending as many months as needed to see the various wonderful sights, while traveling in a comfortably large yacht or cruise ship. 38. I got to take a 5 day cruise 30 years ago and if I could pick any vacation I would want to take a cruise around the world (thinking big here) – that way I could visit a lot of different countries and climates but yet still have a permanent place to stay on board (which is fantastic in itself).

  39. lol I read the comments after I posted and it looks like Preye and I have the same dream vacation.

  40. dream vacation? Sun, sand, beautiful blue water. In other words, any beach during the summertime 🙂

  41. My dream vacation would be in the Italian countryside. Days to discover the food, the people and the architecture. Of course lots of time spent just being lazy, reading and drinking the wonderful wine.

  42. Dream vacation? World Tour. Focus on Western Europe. 😀
