Book of the Day: Jeweled

The winner from yesterday’s contest is Nicole G. Congrats, Nicole! Please drop me an email ~ anyabast(at)gmail.com

Today’s book is Jeweled.

Defined by magic. Ruled by desire.

In the Court of Edaeii, magic-imbued Evangeline is rewarded for her gift in manipulating emotion with a sapphire stone set into the perfect curve of her lower back. Her greatest rival in the royal court is the enigmatic Anatol, instilled with the power of illusion. He may better her in magic, but he is her absolute equal in passion.

They share something else—they’re both targets of low-born revolutionaries bent on overthrowing the palace of the privileged few. Rescued from the mobs by Gregorio, the brilliant revolutionary mastermind, they’re given sanctuary. But in this warm refuge, Evangeline soon finds herself torn between the magic of one man she has always desired, and the excitingly new and radical moves of another. For her, there is only one choice.

Evangeline, Anatol and Gregorio come together as one to explore the possibilities of love beyond reason, and to indulge in pleasure without limits.

~*~*~*~*~*~

In Jeweled, Evangeline is learning how to feel and deal with emotion after years of complete numbness as a backlash of her magickal gift. As a consequence, Jeweled is a highly emotional book. Do you consider yourself a very emotional person? Do you think with your head…or your heart?

Leave a comment for a chance to win an autographed copy of JEWELED. Don’t forget to check back tomorrow it see if you’ve won. Good luck!

  1. I admit I’m a very emotional person, so I always think with my heart. If my heart said that wrong, I believe that thing wrong and vice versa. But sometimes I think with both my head and heart. Still emotional but also logical =)

  2. I definantly think with my heart i think. i’m a very emotional person, but the hearts gotta hurt to many times so i think i’m starting to think with my head more…

  3. I tend to be level headed, and usually keep my emotions pretty much under wraps. That being said, when I let them fly it can be pretty intense…sometimes for the good and sometimes not

  4. I try to think with my head but not always does that happen…just depends on the circumstances. :-)

  5. i’m too emotional really….i’ve a tendency to cry for every catastroph , dead and such ( really not healthy at this point)

  6. i’m emotional person too and hope i can change it and think with my head and my heart ;)

  7. For me, it depends on the situation. I am really emotional too but I try to think before I act.

  8. I am a very emotional person, but as I have gotten older, tend to be more of a thinker.

  9. I think with my head, and normally don’t let emotions interfere with my decisions. My parents are very immature people so as a kid I had a lot of responsibility being the eldest sibling.
But with my own kids when it comes to making decisions about them I’m very emotional, not break down and cry every time someone gets a scratched knee emotional. But I tend to over think everything with them and I am constantly scared that I’ll make a wrong choice :/ Thanks for posting today, and for the chance to win!!

  10. i try very hard to use my head and not my heart but for some reason it somehow back fires

  11. I’m have an emotional base. I used to cry A LOT when I was younger. Not so much now in my second half of my life. I do react on instinct rather than thinking first. I guess with age and some amount of wisdom I now stop after my initial response and try to think things out. I also bite my tongue and try to wait to say something so I don’t have to eat my words…again.

  12. im very emotional, i seem to always think with my heart, which sometimes can make me hurt

  13. I am an emotional person, but I tend to keep them contained… try to balance between head and heart…

  14. Yeah I see myself as emotional. Sometimes I have my extremely weak spots where everything hits me hard and I just have to let it take it’s course. Sometimes I can take things levelly, it all generally depends on the time, if I’m bored (boredom can swing me really into the emotional state).

  15. I tend to think with my head. I do my best to not be ruled by my emotions. I do think I am an emotional person though. I have a hot temper for sure.

  16. I am not very emotional. I can think with my head most time. Unless you are talking about my children then it is all heart :)

  17. I’m an emotional person when I’m at home and with friends but when it comes to my hours at work – I have to be controlled and rational so I’ve learned to juggle the two behaviors pretty welll

  18. I consider myself to be a emotional person. I definitely have a temper when pushed. I tend to think with my heart before my head which sometimes leads to trouble. Oh well you live and you learn right.

  19. Not so much anymore. My first marriage was very passionate. Now the fire seems to banked but it has lasted so much longer.

  20. I think I think with my heart first and then my head, so I do a bit of both, but I guess it depends on the situation.

  21. I do not consider myself a very emotional person and I hope I’m thinking with my head when making decisions.

  22. I tend to always think with my head first so I can keep my emotions under control.

  23. I definitely think with my head after many incidences of feeling like a doormat. I’ve since learned to ignore the heart and definitely stick with your head.

  24. I am a pretty emotional person and not just with one type of emotion either. But I try to tamper them down a bit and listen to my head more in a lot of situations.

  25. I think with my heart but I’ve taught myself wait a heartbeat or two before opening my mouth!

Doesn’t matter though, if I think with my head or heart, I still manage to get into trouble!

  26. I am an emotional person who (attempts) to think logically. I’d say it’s about 50/50. There are some things that I absolutely cannot deal with logically–no matter how hard I try; but even then I do a good job of keeping my feelings to myself where appropriate.

  27. I am emotional when it comes to my family, but learned how to balance that with my head to survive the work place.

  28. I think with my heart ad admit it; it’s hard for me to refuse anyone and I’ve gotten told off by friends for doing so.

  29. More often then not I have had to follow my head than otherwise. However, it really depends on the decision to be made. I followed my heart in love and it was the best decision I have ever done.

  30. I think with my head but lead with my heart if that makes sense?

  31. I tend to be very level headed but I do tend to bottle up my emotions too much. When they do come to the surface it isn’t pretty as it comes out as a massive temper explosion (I liken it to a volcano erruption)

  32. I am a very emotional person but I have learned over the years to think things through. However, when I have an overabundance of emotion, there is no controlling it!

  33. I like to think that I lead with my head, but in truth, I think I’m quite swayed by my emotions and heart. Not always a good thing!

  34. I tend to think more with my head. I’ve been know to be over analytical about situations, even highly emotional situations. Guess it’s a defense mechanism to keep myself from getting hurt.

  35. Emotional up to a point and then I have to think about a decision logically.

  36. I can be quite emotional at times, and may speak from emotion right away, but make most decisions from my head. I skew toward intellect when taking personality tests, so slightly closer to head than heart.

  37. I would say I follow my head more than my heart.

  38. Well I know most of my life I have tended to think with my heart because I have defiantly done some very silly things that I asked myself later “what was I thinking!!”

I hope that as I get older I am thinking more with my head but you never know!! Lol

    Thanks!!

  39. I think with my head way too much. I try to be smart in love to protect my heart. Not always a good thing.

  40. I tend to over think things so I guess I am more mental.

Do not enter me, have this book and LOVE it :)

  41. I’m an emotional person. I have a difficult time keeping my emotions under wraps. I wear them on my sleeve. There are times when I do wish that I could be a little less emotional or have a “poker face”.

  42. I like to think I’m evenly balanced–thinking with both my head and heart, but I guess it depends on the situation (personal/family or in the business/professional arena).

  43. I’m only emotional around my period, I’m usually a very level headed person, thankfully. I make decisions with both my head and heart.

  44. I think for me, I usually think with my head first, and then my heart. It always depends on the matter. If it comes to love and relationship, I think my head is always first and then when I go into the relationship, my heart starts to learn and give me answers on the relationship and love.

  45. Im sort of…weird? I guess. Its like ..I was supposed to be emotional but managed to control that side of me a little too well.
So honestly? I guess I use my head more often than the heart now…

  46. When dealing with the people closest to me, I tend to be more emotional, but as a single mom, I’ve had to learn to be a little bit more logical, especially when making the bigger decisions. Looking at the bigger picture has saved me from making some huge mistakes.

  47. I’m a go with the heart type until a crisis then I become all cool and collected and follow the head :D
